THE ELEPHANT POOL

After passing through the stone archway marking the end of the Sunken City, we reach one of the biggest and most beloved scenes on the Jungle Cruise: the sacred Indian Elephant bathing pool. All around the boat, adorable Indian elephants wade, squirt, and bathe in the water. One larger elephant is seated under a waterfall and tosses her trunk around while wearing a big smile on her face. Tiny elephants playfully squirt water into the mouth of a crocodile.

FROM THE SCRIPT: "Now we're entering the sacred bathing pool of the Indian Elephants. And it looks like it's our lucky day, because the whole herd has come down to bathe. You know elephants are very intelligent animals. Some people say that they never forget. I'd have to say that's true, because they never forget to show up when our boats come through."

"This is the sacred Indian elephant pool - a sight never seen by civilized man.

And as I look around the boat today, I can see that you folks are no exception."

After passing through the main pool, one last elephant waits up ahead. He rises out of the water in front of the boat and sprays a stream of water right in the boat's path. He submerges into the river again and then begins to rise just as the boat is next to him. It appears as though everyone along the right side of the boat is going to get soaked, but the spray doesn't come again. Phew!

FROM THE SCRIPT: "Watch out, he's coming up again! That was close! Looks like he forgot to pack his trunk. Sir in the back, that was very clever hiding behind that little child."
